===The Will===

In the name of God Amen. I Thomas Stendell of Hucknall Huthwaite in the Parish of Sutton-in-Ashfield in the County of Nottingham farmer, being of sound and perfect mind and memory I do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following viz.

First I do command my soul into the hands of Almighty God hopeing through the merits of Jesus Christ to have full and free pardon of all my sins and to inherit everlasting life and my body I do command to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my executor hereinafter mentioned and as touching the disposition of all and such Temporal Estate as it hath pleased Almighty God to bestow upon me I give and dispose there of as followeth. First that my Debts and funeral charges be paid. Item I give and bequeath all my real and personable estate to my loving wife Mary Stendel during the term of her natural life and at the decease of my loving wife Mary Stendell as follows viz. I give to my daughter Milicent and my son Edward and my son Peter all my personable estate to be equally divided, share and share alike. Then I give and bequeath to my son John Stendell, the possession I now dwell in under his Grace the Duke of Portland by his Grace’s agents leave by John Stendell paying to my daughter Millicent Stendell five pounds. Then I give and bequeath all my houses and land as followeth that John, Elizabeth, Marther, William, Millicent, Edward, Peter and my son Thomas, children to have their Father’s share (equally divided amongst them) that this estate is to be sold and equally divided amongst them, share and share alike but if in case any one of them be in mind and can and will and do agree to pay unto all and every one of them their regular and full shares within twelve months after the decease of my wife Mary Stendell then to have the estate at a fair valuation but if any one be dead and leave no child then the share to go amongst the living. The, and I do hereby appoint my loving wife Mary Stendell my sole executor to dispose of as she shall think proper. I hereby revoke all former wills by me made at any time In Witness whereof I hereunto have set my hand and seal this 10  day of March 1813 Thomas Standall signed and sealed and published by the testator to be his last will and testament in the presence of
