BE IT KNOWN that

Elias Stendall of 18 Young Crescent, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire

DIED ON THE

26th day of May 1948 at Sutton-in-Ashfield, aforesaid.

AND BE IT FURTHER KNOWN that at the date hereunder written the last Will and Testament.

(a copy whereof is hereunto annexed) of the said deceased was proved and registered in the District Probate Registry of His Majesty’s High Court of Justices at Nottingham and that Administration of all the Estate which by law devolves to and vests in the personal representative of the said deceased was granted by the aforesaid Court to:

Jessie Stendall widow the relict and John Stendall, Hosiery Worker, the son of the deceased both of 18 Young Crescent aforesaid and Elsie Kershaw of 4a Birley Street, Brookhill, Stapleford, Nottinghamshire (wife of Charles Percy Harold Kershaw) formerly Shaw widow and Connie Maxted of 29 Laxton Avenue, Sutton-in-Ashfield, aforesaid (wife of William Henry Maxted) the daughter of the deceased  four of the executors named in the said will  Alan Stendall son also of the deceased the other executor named therein having renounced Probate thereof.

And it is hereby certified that an Affidavit for Inland Revenue has been delivered wherein it is shown that the gross value o the said estate in Great Britain.

(exclusive of what the said deceased may have been possessed of or entitled to as a Trustee and not beneficially) and that the net value of the estate.

===4th November 1946===

EXECUTORS

      THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me ELIAS STENDALL of 18 Young Crescent, Sutton-in-Ashfield in the county of Nottingham, Paper Merchant. I APPOINT my wife Jessie Stendall and my four children John, Alan, Elsie Shaw and Connie Maxted (hereinafter called “my trustees”) to be the Executors and Trustees of this my Will, I DEVISE AND BEQUEATH all my real & personal estate unto my trustees UPON TRUST that my Trustees shall sell, call in and convert into money the same or such part thereof as shall not consist of money and shall with and out of my ready money pay my funeral and testamentary expenses and debts and shall invest the residue of the said moneys with power for my Trustees from time to time to vary such investments and shall stand possessed of the said residuary trust moneys and the investments for the time being representing the same (hereinafter called “the residuary trust fund”)

      IN TRUST to pay income thereof to my said wife during her widowhood and from and after her decease or remarriage whichever shall first happen IN TRUST for such of my said four children who shall survive me in equal shares and if there shall be only one such child the whole to be in trust for that one child PROVIDED ALWAYS that if any child of mine shall die in my lifetime or in the lifetime of my said wife and attain the age of twenty one years then and in every such case the last mentioned child or children shall take (and if more than one equally between them) the share of and in the residuary trust fund which is his or their parent would have taken if such parent had survived me and my said wife and attained the age of twenty one years I DECLARE that my trustees may postpone the sale and conversion of any part of my real and personal estate for so long as they shall think fit and that the rents profits and income to accrue from and after my decease of and from such part of my estate as shall for the time being remain unsold and unconverted shall after payment thereout of all incidental expenses and outgoings be paid and applied to the person or persons and in the manner to whom and in which the income of the proceeds of such sale and conversion would for the time being be payable or applicable under this my Will if such sale and conversion had been actually made by me IN WITNESS whereof I have to this my Will set my hand this fourth day of November One Thousand Nine Hundred an Forty Six.

The Testator  as and  for  his last Will  and Testament In the  presence  of us  both  present  at the  same time Who   at   his   request   in  his   presence  and   in  the Presence of each  other  have hereunto  subscribed our names as Witnesses.
